Synergistic Stories (the Original!)public - created 08/20/03 |

INSTRUCTIONS:
Start a new story or add to an existing one. In the subject line, describe how many words the participant is allowed to write per entry. Then start the story off with the first words in the body of the message.
Stories may continue forever, or the story's "owner" (whoever started it) may call it finished at any point.
RULES
(just a few to keep things running smoothly!):
- Don't post two entries in a row. Wait for someone else to add to your entry instead.
- Entries must be grammatically correct.
- compound words separated by a hyphen or slash *do not* count as one word. Eg: "owner/operator" is two words, "master-and-servant" is three words.
Hyphens used for prefixes are OK. Eg: "pre-planning" is one word. There may be exceptions, so let's not be too rigid about this!
TIPS:
- Stories work best and are the most creative when you are limited to a small number of words per entry.
- There's more opportunity for creativity if you do *not* end your line with punctuation (let the person after you decide if they want to use punctuation or not).
- Re-read the whole story before adding your entry. You may find cool ways to tie in a previously mentioned person or thing, which gives the story a much better flow.
- Don't be afraid to use small words like "as", "it", "for", "to", etc. Sometimes it feels like you're wasting your word limit by using small words, but they are very important for the stories to flow nicely! The stories may be surreal and illogical, but the better the wordsmithing, the more fun it is to read.
This tribe is unmoderated for the time being, but may become moderated at a later date.
HAVE FUN!
